Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction
This agreement sets out the terms and conditions on which your child is offered a place as a pupil at the International British Academy. By accepting a place for your child as a pupil, you agree to these terms and conditions. The term “parents” used in this document also includes “guardians”.

2. Duration
This agreement will remain in effect until the student completes their studies at the International British Academy, or until the parent voluntarily terminates it by completing the “Student Withdrawal” form.

3. Powers of school Director
Parents authorize the Director of the International British Academy, or his/her designated deputy, to take such actions as the Director deems to be in the best interests of the student on a daily basis.

4. Providing education
The International British Academy will do its utmost to provide all students with an appropriate educational environment and a high level, standard and quality of teaching.
The International British Academy cannot guarantee that a student will achieve the desired results in examinations, or that the results will be sufficient for admission to other educational institutions.
The International British Academy does not currently administer examinations. Students are required to register as private candidates. The Academy will provide students with full information about the examinations, however, finding a suitable examination centre, meeting registration deadlines and the costs associated with taking the examinations are the responsibility of the parents. In addition, participation requirements in other compulsory educational programs, for example, participation requirements in the A-Level Practical Science subject, are the responsibility of the parents.

5. Tuition fees and payment terms
5.1 The registration fee (200 GEL) is non-refundable.
5.2 The tuition fee is refundable if you write to us by email within 14 days of enrollment that you wish to cancel the course. After this time, the tuition fee will not be refunded. If you register during the academic year and attend at least one class, the 14-day cancellation policy does not apply and the amount will not be refunded.
5.3 If you make a semester payment, the amount must be paid 14 days before the start of the current semester.
5.4 If the payment is made annually, the payment must be made within 14 days of registration. If you join during the academic year, the tuition fee will be calculated pro rata.
5.5 In case of late payment, a reminder invoice will be sent by the school administration. For each such reminder sent, an administrative fee of 50 GEL will be charged. The student’s account will be blocked without notice until payment is received. “International British Academy” reserves the right to increase tuition fees at any time; you will be notified of any increase before the tuition fee increase comes into effect. The obligation to pay the fee and all other costs lies with those who have signed the terms of this agreement. In the event of minor delays in conducting classes, no refunds will be made.

6. Notice Period
Parents may withdraw their child from the Academy at any time by sending a notice of withdrawal. Notice of withdrawal can be sent by email to info@cambridge.ge. Notices sent by any other means, including telephone, will not be accepted. Prior consultation with the Principal is advisable before a student withdraws.

7. Confidentiality
“International British Academy” recognizes the importance of student privacy and we always take their interests into account. As an online school, we have a very active website and use social media as our daily tool. Students will have the opportunity to appear on our website and social media in a variety of ways, including through photos, videos, voice recordings and posts. In such cases, we will request explicit consent from parents and students before publishing any of the above information. In addition, the International British Academy may from time to time publish information in the press, on the website and on social media which we believe is in the best interests of the school, students and parents. In such cases, we will again ask for permission before any publication.

8. Data Protection
The International British Academy will use the information you provide about you and your child for, among other things, administrative monitoring, accounting, curriculum and examination planning and control, publication of examination results, provision of reports, analysis for educational and management purposes, marketing and public relations and other purposes necessary for the good governance of the school and the well-being of its staff and students.
We may disclose some or all of the information to service providers and agents for these purposes.
By completing this form, you consent to the processing of the information you and your child provide for the purposes described above, which may include, where necessary, the processing of personal data relating to your child’s health, their religious affiliation and their ethnic or racial origin.
You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you or your child and to have any inaccuracies corrected.
The International British Academy has a policy of recording all academic lessons. The ability to record lessons is a valuable asset and this policy is in the best interests of all students and teachers, as well as parents. All lesson recordings are stored securely on the servers of our software providers.
By signing this agreement, parents give permission to The International British Academy to contact any examination centre where the student has taken the exams and, in turn, give permission to the examination centre to share the exam results with The International British Academy.

9. Internet Security
The British Academy International will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your child uses the School Platform for appropriate purposes, however your child will be responsible for the use of the British Academy International email services and online social community and that intentional misuse will be considered a breach of the Cambridge International Academy rules. Parents grant permission to the Principal to monitor the use of the Cambridge International Academy service at any time. To protect students from inappropriate contact online, students will be provided with passwords and should only communicate with other students and staff in authorized classrooms, message boards, email accounts, lessons and online communities created by Cambridge International Academy.

10. Learning Environment
Parents are responsible for ensuring that their child has a suitable place to study. The International British Academy is not responsible for the home (or any other) learning environment.

The ultimate responsibility for the safety, welfare and educational progress of students at the International British Academy lies with the Principal. The Principal has the authority to review all disciplinary matters arising and, where necessary, delegate disciplinary authority to staff. Parents and students unconditionally accept the Principal’s authority to do so. In very serious cases of disciplinary misconduct, the Principal may have full authority to suspend or expel a student. Parents agree that the Principal has full authority to suspend or expel a student in such circumstances. If a student is suspended, the Principal will contact the parents immediately and explain the circumstances that led to the suspension.
