Cambridge International Examinations for Primary School Students, also known as Young Learners English (YLE), are designed specifically for children aged 7-12. The main aim of the exam is to stimulate children's interest in learning English, increase their confidence and reduce exam anxiety. The YLE exam consists of three levels:
This exam corresponds to the beginner level and is intended for children who are just starting to learn English.
This exam corresponds to the beginner level. At this level, children can already build simple sentences and answer simple questions.
This exam is equivalent to the pre-intermediate level of English. At this level, children already understand some grammar, can write and answer questions.
Listening. This includes several tasks that require listening: you listen to dialogues and answer questions.
Reading and writing. This type of task includes tests in which you have to choose the correct answer or fill in the blank. In the writing part, you write words or sentences.
Speaking. The speaking part involves an individual dialogue between the child and the examiner. Here you have to answer questions. This part also involves talking about various topics using various pictures. The second part involves telling a story about yourself.
Cambridge English: Key (KET) is the first exam in the Cambridge English series, which assesses a basic level of English and corresponds to Pre-Intermediate. At this level, candidates are expected to be able to communicate in simple, everyday situations and to understand and use simple phrases and expressions.
Another version of the exam is A2 Key for Schools (KET for Schools). It is designed specifically for school students.
The KET exam consists of three parts: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Both versions of KET can be taken in a paper-based format or on a computer.
Getting the international KEY (KET) certificate confirms your ability to communicate at a basic level in English. Successfully passing the exam will help you further improve your language skills, see real results and assess your strengths and weaknesses. After completing the test, preparing for future exams will be more productive and easier. In addition, the KEY (KET) certificate is recognized by many international companies and is accepted by educational institutions as proof of a basic level of English. The A2 KEY and A2 KEY for Schools certificates are valid for an indefinite period.
